Resuming the work of the Austrian airlines reconnect direct flights to Europe, FM Hussein says

    Minister of Foreign Affairs – MOFA Fuad Hussein welcomed on Tuesday the Austrian companies to work in Iraq and noting that resuming the flights of the Austrian Airlines to Iraq will return the direct flight to Europe. 

    Hussein said during the joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart   Alexander Schallenberg, which was attended by the Iraqi News Agency-INA that  “He discussed with his Austrian counterpart number of issues most notably  the politics relations between the two countries and the work of Austrian companies in Iraq and resuming the flight of Austrian Airlines”, pointing out that the discussions included facilitating   the work of the Austrian Airlines to return its flight to Iraq.

    He noted “Iraq seek to return direct flight to Europe instead of transit through Turkey or Qatar “.  

     

    Hussein confirmed, “Iraqi constitution prohibits any entity to use its land for violating neighboring countries”, noting that some groups in Kurdistan located there since 50 years ago.  

    He noted “Iraqi – Iranian relationships are very strong and this relation prevents the use of violence,” adding “Iraq refuse using its land for violating Iran by those groups and refuse threating Iraqi sovereignty.

    Hussein clarified that “Iraq is committed to the agreement with Iranian side which include removing armed groups from borders and transferring them to camps inside Kurdistan region faraway from borders.” 

    FM Hussein stressed that he will visit Iran tomorrow to discuss this agreement between the two sides.

     

    Hussein elaborated that the security agreement with the  Austrian side  don’t mean adding more foreign forces in Iraq, affirming that security agreement with Austria include advice, training and mutual cooperation
