3 million and 500 thousand inbound pilgrims entered Iraq, says BPC Chairman

    The Chairman of Border Ports Commission -BPC, Omer Al-Waeli announced today, Saturday, the number of arrivals and departures of visitors through the border crossings.
     
    "The number of Iranian pilgrims and other nationalities arriving so far has reached 3 million and 500 thousand inbound pilgrims, while the number of departures from Iraq to their countries so far has reached one million pilgrims," Al-Waeli told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    He added, "Zurbatiyah border crossing received the highest number of pilgrims, as it witnessed the entry of one million and 600 thousand pilgrims."
    He pointed out that "Najaf Airport was the airport that received the highest number of pilgrims, as it received 160,000 visitors."
     
    He stressed that "The pilgrims entry was highly streamlined, based on prior coordination with the Iranian side through gradual dispatching, As well as activating the transmission of data between Iranian and Iraqi ports, the most numerous neighborhood to enter visitors from Zurbatiyah and Shalamcheh border crossing, as well as the significant strengthening of human resources of all departments from governorates, ministries and organs service and facilities for visitors ".
