The Meteorological Authority expected, today, Thursday, average temperatures during next September, and while clarifying the situation regarding the seasonal depression, it indicated that the temperatures recorded in July and August were according to the general rates.
The authority’s media director, Amer Al-Jabri, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The first quarter of July witnessed the country being affected by a seasonal thermal depression that deepened in multiple periods and then receded,” noting that “during the three months from July until the end of September, there will be Temperature fluctuation between high and low.
He added, "The intensification of the heat was in the first quarter of last July, and its impact was clear on the country," noting, "The temperatures during the past five days have varied from one region to another, as there are regions that recorded 50 and 51 degrees Celsius, while Basra recorded for a period of time." Four consecutive days 49, 48 and even 47 Celsius.
He stated, "During the month of September, the temperatures will decrease compared to the months of August and July," explaining, "The temperatures are currently approximately according to the general rates."
