Baghdad-INA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued today, Wednesday, a clarification regarding video clips of a number of kidnapped Iraqis in Iran.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Some social media sites published video clips of a number of kidnapped Iraqis in Iran near the Iranian-Turkish border, and they were released in exchange for sums of money by the kidnappers," noting that "the videos belong to a case Kidnapped since July 2023.
He added, "The competent security authorities of both countries and the Iraqi embassy in Tehran are following up on these cases to limit it, especially since they are carrying out fraudulent operations to obtain funds," calling on "citizens not to be drawn behind social networking sites and unreliable personalities so as not to fall into the hands of these outlaw gangs."
