INSS overthrows a terrorist network responsible for carrying out recent attacks in Diyala

    The Iraqi National Security Service INSS announced on Sunday the overthrow of a terrorist network responsible for carrying out the recent attacks in Diyala.
     
    INSS said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "a force from the Service in Diyala Province managed to overthrow a terrorist network consisting of two detachments that include 5 wanted terrorists according to judicial arrest warrants, including the so-called commander of Baquba and Khalis detachments of the terrorist organization ".
     
    The statement added that " the elements of the two terrorist detachments confessed to belonging to Daesh terrorist gangs, and carrying out criminal operations against citizens and security forces during the current year, including planting explosive devices and detonating them in areas (Al-Katun, Al-Khalis, Al-Mualmeen, and Tahrir neighborhood), targeting police patrols and security control towers, as well as planting an explosive device in order to blow it up on the House of a judge in Diyala, and planning to carry out assassinations against figures and officers in the province.
     
    "The arrest took place after the field and intelligence follow-up of all terrorist incidents, the luring of the wanted and the setting of court ambushes that led to their overthrow," it added, noting that "their statements were duly recorded and referred to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law.
