Oil: We are keen to accelerate the gradual transition to the operation of the Karbala refinery

    The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Liquidation Affairs, Hamed Yunis, confirmed today, Saturday, the ministry's keenness to accelerate the gradual transition to operating the Karbala Oil Refinery with design capacities, reaching 140 thousand barrels per day, after the completion of the consortium of Korean companies from implementing its contractual, engineering, technical and operational obligations.

    Yunus said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "This visit comes within the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani, for direct field follow-up and supervision of the implementation of the operational requirements with the planned design capacities of the production units, during the coming period.".

    The ministry indicated, "His visit to the refinery included holding a meeting with officials and those concerned with the management of the refinery and the international advisory office to discuss the introduction of production units in succession, marking the actual operation of the design capacities, in addition to a field tour that included the parts of the refinery, control centers and production units."
    He pointed out, "The refinery operates with experimental energies and pumps quantities of oil derivatives."
