Ministry of Transport: China made a technical presentation for Road of Development project

The Ministry of Transportation announced on Saturday that China has submitted a technical presentation for the strategic Road Development project.

The director of relations and media at the ministry, Maytham al-Safi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "the Road of Development project is of great local and global interest, and each company is trying to find a place for it in its implementation team, and the presence of the economic adviser at the Chinese Embassy in Baghdad to the headquarters of the general company of Iraqi Railways confirms the importance of this project.

"The economic consultant reviewed the plans by visiting the headquarters of the Road of Development project and providing a technical presentation of the project by the project engineers,"al-Safi added.

He stressed that "the project is currently at the preliminary design stage,and the designs are arriving successively, as well as specialized companies are conducting soil investigations to provide the necessary data for the design of the railway and Highway".

Prime minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed earlier that the Road of Development project will turn Iraq into a country open to the world.

The Media Office of the prime minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):" prime minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting that included a number of businessmen and investors from the Iraqi private sector.

The statement added that"the meeting discussed ways to remove obstacles to the work of the private sector and support it to contribute to the implementation of the government's plans for development and investment".

"The government's vision in supporting the private sector, which was embodied in a package of decisions of the Cabinet and measures to serve this sector, stressing the government's adoption of the Iraq fund for development and major projects as a development path, which represents important paths to reform the economic situation, address the mono-economy and create an investment environment," it said.

Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, that" the Road of Development project will turn Iraq into a country open to the world, which has made financial and economic institutions deal with the project, which does not stand with regional countries but connects countries and global economies such as China and Europe, with its integrated projects, such as the FAO port and the major industrial city, and the creation of large industries covering the needs of Iraq and the region".
