Al-Halbousi and the UN Commissioner stress the importance of completing the formation of the Human Rights Commission

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Volker Turk, stressed the importance of completing the formation of the Human Rights Commission.
 
The media office of the Parliament Speaker stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Parliament Speaker, Muhammad al-Halbousi, received the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Volker Turk, and his accompanying delegation, which included the head of the Asia, Pacific, Middle East and North Africa department. In UNHCR, Francesco Motta, UNHCR Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani, and Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Plasscheart.
  "The meeting discussed a number of issues related to human rights, existing laws that will be presented in the House of Representatives and related to enforced disappearance, freedom of expression, organizing media work, and the importance of the council completing the formation of the Human Rights Commission. The meeting also discussed the conditions of the missing and displaced, and issues related to climate change, and the role of the Human Rights Commission for Human Rights to help address these challenges.
