FIIA arrests 12 terrorists in Nineveh

    The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced, on Sunday, the arrest of 12 terrorists in Nineveh.

    According to a statement by FIIA received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "in accordance with the directives of the minister of Interior to follow up the movements of wanted and outlaws and arrest them, and after receiving accurate intelligence information, FIIA detachments in Nineveh province, with a tight ambush, were able to arrest 12 wanted in accordance with the provisions of Article IV of the anti-terrorism law.

    It explained that "the arrest operation came after following up and investigating the movements of those wanted who belonged to Daesh terrorist gangs, and participated in various operations aimed at the lives of innocent citizens and members of the armed forces and security forces and violating the security of the province, as well as documents condemning their criminal acts and belonging to the so-called (Al-Furqan brigade Fallujah General camps and the Islamic police)".

    "The operation to arrest the wanted included the seizure of a group of weapons," it added, stressing that "all the wanted were referred to the competent investigative authorities to get their fair punishment.

    According to the statement, the federal intelligence and investigative agency called on "citizens to provide information and report on outlaws by calling the toll-free and hot number 144".
