Iraqi National Security Service-INSS announced on Tuesday, the arrest of 9 suspects in the provinces of Babil and Basra.
"The detachments of INSS, after obtaining judicial approvals in Babil province, arrested (8) suspects for deceiving citizens into appointing on the staff of the Iraqi National Security Service, including a suspect impersonating a director general in the Parliament, and the other in the prime minister's office, as well as seizing a set of seals of ministries and government Agencies, and a number of forged books,” stated INSS in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA.
The statement added, "INSS detachments in Basra were also able, after setting up an elaborate ambush, to arrest an accused who took sums from citizens for the purpose of hiring them at INSS," noting that "all the accused were duly referred to the competent judicial authorities to receive their just punishment in accordance with the law."
The statement urged "citizens to obtain information from official sources and not to be led by rumors."
