The Kirkuk Police Command announced on Wednesday the arrest of 24 foreigners hiding inside a tank in the province.
The Command said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the detachments of the controls division of the Kirkuk police command, in coordination with the detachments of the Department of internal affairs and security of Kirkuk province, arrested 24 foreigners who were hiding inside a tank while trying to cross through the checkpoint of Al-Shuhadaa.
It added that " this came after the formation of a force on the order of the Kirkuk police commander to get them out of the tank and ensure their safety and the safety," noting that "they were referred with the driver of the vehicle to the competent center to take legal action against them properly.
The command warned " all vehicle drivers entering and leaving the governorate, from violating the orders and instructions for transporting foreigners," promising to "take strict measures against violators".
