The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, announced on Tuesday the arrest of 5 wanted persons in three governorates.
Rasool told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "according to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, and under the supervision of the head of the Anti-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Abd al-Wahhab al-Saadi, the heroes of the agency carried out a series of operations in separate areas of the country, as the units began to carry out the duty which resulted in the arrest of a wanted person in Kirkuk Governorate.
He added, "With two separate operations, and in cooperation and coordination with the Sulaymaniyah Anti-Terrorism Directorate and the Sulaymaniyah Anti-Terrorism Regiment, the two operations resulted in the arrest of two wanted persons in Sulaymaniyah Governorate," noting that "the heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Service also managed to arrest two terrorists in Anbar Governorate."
He stated that "the heroes of the Anti-Terrorism Service continue to carry out their duties throughout the day in every inch of our generous land."
