The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the take-off of an evacuation plane intended for the repatriation of Iraqis from Sudan.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Sunday that "in implementation of the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, and pursuant to the follow-ups of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein, head of the Emergency Diplomatic Response Operations Room, the evacuation plane designated for the return of Iraqis took off from the Martyr Muhammad Alaa Air Base heading to Port Sudan Airport in northeastern Sudan.
