FICC announces Iraq's participation in the largest economic gathering in the region

    Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (FICC) announced on Tuesday Iraq's participation in the largest economic gathering in the region, which will be held in mid-September in UAE, while stressing Iraq's strong desire to work, participate and dialogue with the countries of the region.
     
    The head of FICC, Abdul Razzaq al-Zuhair told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A large country like Iraq, with its land, people, natural resources, and geographical location, is relied upon by the world as the largest and greatest transit area in the world, after the features of the great port of Faw and the strategic planning of the city of Faw became clear economic blocs and the necessary plans for laying railways stressing "the need for there to be an economic bloc that makes Iraq possess all the capabilities of energy, water, money and expertise, as this new world is beginning to shrink into economic blocs."
     
    He pointed out that "Iraq worked with the Gulf Chambers for two years, since the great event that will be held in the Emirate of Sharjah in mid-September with great efforts and in the presence of more than 100 businessmen and a large number of ministers and governors," noting that "this gathering will be the largest economic gathering the region has witnessed between Gulf and Iraqi businessmen.”
     
      He expressed "Iraq's strong desire to work, participate and dialogue with the countries of the region," stressing that "there will be a distinguished Iraqi sector that has built itself despite all the challenges and circumstances, but it has proven its presence in the arena between residential buildings, large factories, glass, iron and aluminum factories and all factories and between modern banks, large universities and high power stations, you will find a completely different private sector.”
     
    He explained that "the government has set the principle of full priority for the private sector in its government curriculum, so the Iraqi private sector must have its place," noting that "there is great dialogue and harmony between the legislative and executive authorities, and this will give the private sector great importance in work."
     
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani confirmed, earlier, that Iraq has ambitious investment opportunities, while indicating that the government is serious about confronting bureaucracy.
     
    Prime Minister's media office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani received, on Monday evening, a delegation of businessmen and investors in the United Arab Emirates, headed by the President of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Muhammad Al Mazrouei. He welcomed the members of the guest delegation, stressing that their visit to the capital, Baghdad, reflects the distinguished relationship between the two brotherly countries, and the desire to open more prospects for joint economic cooperation.
     
    Prime Minister stated, according to the statement, that "Iraq has ambitious investment opportunities, and it is ready for a qualitative economic leap that would promote sustainable development and fully achieve its goals," referring to "the large investments made in Iraq in the fields of energy and petrochemicals."
     
    He stressed that "the government has a clear executive program, and it is serious about confronting bureaucracy and providing all necessary facilities in order to create a successful investment environment."
