Foundation of Martyrs announces removing 605 bodies from the graves of the victims of Badush prisoners

    The Martyrs Foundation announced on Sunday the removal of 605 bodies from the graves of the victims of Badush prisoners.
     
    The Director General of the Department of Mass Graves at the Martyrs Foundation, Dhiaa Karim, said in a press conference held with the participation of the Director of the Medico-Legal Department and an official in the imam Abbas holly shrine and attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "ISIS gangs took Badush prisoners to an area some kilometers from the prison, and about 600 prisoners were killed near the waterway."
     
    He explained that "the process of opening and excavating graves was carried out with the support of the International Commission on Missing Persons and the international investigation team after the issuance of the decision to open the graves."
     
    He added that "the process of opening the graves took more than two years, resulting in the removal of 605 bodies, 401 parts of the body and 204 full bodies," pointing out that "all the remains were handed over to the Medico-Legal Department for identification after being exposed to floods and climate changes."
