Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani sponsored the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi and Iranian oil ministries.
Al-Sudani received on Wednesday, the Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jawad Oji, and during the meeting they discussed the overall cooperation relations between Iraq and Iran, and ways to develop them for the benefit of the two friendly peoples, in addition to enhance the ability of the two countries in facing global economic challenges, the media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Prime Minister sponsored the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi and Iranian oil ministries, which was signed by the Iraqi Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani, while it was signed by Mr. Jawad Oji on the Iranian side. The memorandum included organizing aspects of cooperation to invest in the fields of joint oil reserves located on the borders between the two countries, and cooperation in the fields of crude oil extraction, refining, and technological dealings with associated gas.
The memorandum concluded between the two sides also included strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of petrochemical industries, also, in the field of training and qualifying staff working in the oil and gas sectors.
