Minister of Industry: Promoting the industrial sector is the government's priority and we have a plan to support the private sector

The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal, said on Wednesday that one of the priorities of the government of Prime Minister, Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani, is to promote the industrial sector, and while revealing a plan to support the private sector, he announced his ministry's full support to make room for the private sector and not compete with it.
 
Battal said, during the activities of the conference on mineral investment, petrochemicals, fertilizers and cement, and attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "This conference is the first of its kind held by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, which we look forward to establishing a real partnership with internal and external private sector companies."
 
He added that "the current government, headed by Engineer Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, has set one of its priorities to advance the Iraqi industrial sector in the fields of mining, fertilizers, petrochemicals, cement and other fields to contribute to achieving the goals of the Iraqi National Development Plan in terms of increasing the contribution of the industrial sector to the GDP, providing job opportunities and Iraq's aspirations to achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030.
The minister pointed out that "the vision of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in the next phase is to focus on strategic industries that contribute to creating job opportunities for Iraqi youth."
 
He pointed out that " the Ministry announces its full support for the private sector, and enabling it to support the Ministry's companies also through the conclusion of real partnership contracts for original companies with an acceptable financial structure.
 
The minister said: "We will be striving to take the ideas and observations put forward seriously to reach the desired goal, which is the establishment of industrial projects that contribute to achieving the goals of development in the industrial sector and according to what was stated in the government program of the current government."
