Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Muhammed, discussed ways to support the transition to a circular carbon economy, during the meeting of the 14th session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, held in Morocco.
The Minister of Finance participated today in Rabat - the Kingdom of Morocco, in the meeting of the 14th session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement added that the council’s agenda handled many economic and financial issues, including the discussion of the International Monetary Fund’s report on issues of enhancing domestic revenue mobilization in the Arab countries, the World Bank’s report on improving the performance of government institutions and companies, issues of debt sustainability, global reforms to corporate taxes, and the implementation map and repercussions for the Arab countries.
"Experiences were reviewed and exchanged on the role of fiscal policy in enhancing food security, experiences and developments regarding supporting the transition to a circular carbon economy. The latest developments in the G20 countries were also presented, and the Arab countries' positions on the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group as well as the support for Arab institutions were presented," included the statement.
