President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Thursday the need to benefit from Iraqi competencies and potentials abroad.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today at Baghdad Palace, the delegation of Mandaean Sabeans headed by the head of the Mandaean Sabean sect in Iraq and the world Sattar Jabbar Helo."
The President of the Republic stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of making more efforts to serve Iraqis with all their affiliations and components," stressing "the need to benefit from Iraqi competencies and potentials abroad, and encourage them to return, especially as the country enjoys security and stability and is witnessing an improvement in the overall situation, especially after the end of the repercussions of the Covid - 19 pandemic.
He explained, "Iraq has regained its former position and many leaders of countries praised the positive developments in the country, especially as the government has an ambitious program to provide the necessary services and job opportunities for citizens."
He pointed out "the importance of protecting the Iraqi social fabric and preserving the diversity that characterizes the country," stressing that "the Mandaean Sabeans are an essential component in Iraq, and it is worth that his sons contribute effectively and seriously to the process of building and drawing the future for the country."
For his part, the head of the Mandaean Sabean sect in Iraq and the world extended his congratulations to the "President of the Republic on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr", expressing "his thanks and appreciation to the President for his proposals and positions supporting and calling for ensuring the rights of all Iraqis of all their various affiliations."
He pointed out that "President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid is a continuous extension of the march of the late President Jalal Talabani," stressing "his confidence in the president in preserving the social fabric and protecting diversity in Iraq."
The head of the Mandaean Sabean sect in Iraq and the world reviewed the conditions of the Mandaean Sabeans and some of the issues facing them.
