Al-Araji: The government is keen to develop relations of friendship and cooperation with Canada

    National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji confirmed today, Monday, that the Iraqi government is keen to develop relations of friendship, cooperation and partnership with Canada.
     
     
    Al-Araji’s media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji received in his office today the Canadian Ambassador to Baghdad, Gregory Galligan."
    The statement added, "Al-Araji discussed with the Canadian ambassador the latest developments in the political and security situation, regionally and internationally, and ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to discussing the Syrian Al-Hol camp file, and the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war."
    Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement, that "Canada is a friendly country to Iraq, and that its participation in the international coalition against terrorism recorded a clear position against the fierce terrorist attack that Iraq was subjected to," noting that "the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani is keen to develop Friendship, cooperation and partnership relations with Canada.
