PM Discusses  ways to Advance the  Agricultural Sector

Prime Minister Mohammed S Al-Sudani, received today the members of the Parliamentary Committee  of Agriculture, Water and Marshlands.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of implementing the government's plans in the agricultural sector, which represents an important aspect of the government program, with efforts to revive and revitalize the agricultural sector, as it is one of the most important aspects of the economic reform adopted by the government.

The meeting also focused on discussing the challenges related to water management  and how to deal with it, by adhering to the government's programs and directives, which aim at preserving water resources.

During the meeting they highlighted the importance of supporting farmers, providing all their requirements and needs, as well as preparing the requirements for receiving their products from them and paying their dues, to encourage them and support the domestic products to achieve food security.

PM talked about the plan for the upcoming winter agricultural season, stressing that government support will only include farmers who use modern irrigation systems.

Al-Sudani also pointed out that the next agricultural season will include subsidies for the final agricultural products to encourage  agricultural sector and increase its economic feasibility.
