Al-Araji receives U.S. Ambassador to Iraq

    National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji called on Thursday, on the United States to encourage countries to withdraw their nationals from Al-Hol camp.

    The media office of the National Security Adviser said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji received, in his office today, Al-Araji receives U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Alina L. Romanowski ," noting that "Al-Araji discussed with the US ambassador developments in the political and security situation on The regional and international levels, in addition to discussing the file of the Al-Hol and Al-Jadaa camps, and the continuation of cooperation between Baghdad and Washington in the field of combating terrorism." 


    US ambassador indicated that "Al-Hol camp is an Iraqi file," expressing "her country's readiness to provide the necessary support to Iraq in this file, in order to achieve security and stability in Iraq and the region."

    For his part, Al-Araji called on the United States to "encourage countries to withdraw their nationals from Al-Hol camp," noting that "some countries have withdrawn their nationals from the camp."

    He expressed "Iraq's aspiration to urge the rest of the countries to withdraw their nationals."

    US ambassador also affirmed that her country is "serious in urging the international community to help Iraq end the Al-Hol camp file, and withdraw the remaining countries for their nationals from the camp."
