President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed on Monday, the need to hasten the approval of the budget, as it directly affects people's lives.
President Rashid received the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Muhsin Al-Mandalawi, and members of Parliament Hussein Al-Azerjawi, Muhammed Al-Douri, Hassan Al-Khafaji, Ali Al-Saadi, and Haitham Al-Fahad, according to a statement by the media office of the Presidency of the Republic received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
They discussed the general situation, political and security developments in the country, and the need to hasten the approval of the budget because "it directly affects people's lives and livelihoods, and in a way that contributes to the implementation of the government program and meeting the requirements of citizens."
Rashid noted, "the importance of the oversight and legislative role of the Parliament in monitoring the performance of state institutions," referring to "Iraq's participation in the United Nations Water Conference held in New York recently, and the support of heads and leaders of countries to Iraq in terms of facing the dangers of the water crisis and climate change."
