PMF: New joint security operation launched south of Mosul

    The Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF announced on Saturday, the launch of a joint security operation south of Mosul province.

    PMF said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "A joint force of the army, river police detachments, and Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces launched a raid and search operation in the villages of Al-Kasr, Hawi Aslan, and the islands located along the Zab River, south of Mosul."

    The statement added, "PMF forces represented by the Operations, Intelligence and Explosives Control Departments and the 21st Brigade, participated in the operation aimed at draining the sources of terrorism, searching for the remnants of terrorist groups, and maintaining security and stability in the city of Mosul," noting that "the security sectors continue their heroic preemptive operations to pursue criminal gangs throughout Nineveh Governorate.”
