Rasool: Security forces work on protecting citizens, carrying out pre-emptive operations

    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, announced on Sunday the implementation of pre-emptive operations for those who try to stir up sectarian strife, while pointing out that the cooperation of citizens is a great success for internal security.
     
    Rasool told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the armed forces are working to protect the Iraqi people, and there are preemptive and qualitative operations carried out in accordance with the intelligence effort to pursue anyone who tries to carry out assassinations and destabilize security and stability," noting that "the directives include striking with an iron fist anyone who tries to tamper with the safety of the Iraqi citizen."
     
     
    "The services are ready, whether intelligence or in the Ministry of Interior, and are working to prevent such operations," he said, noting that "we are working to maintain order, security and stability not only by pursuing the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, but also by maintaining internal security."
     
    He stressed that "the military leadership is focuses on the guidance of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, in pursuing anyone who tries to destabilize security and order," pointing out that "the intelligence effort exists to pursue those who are tempted to tamper with the regime."
     
    "Citizen’s cooperation with security and intelligence agencies is a great success for security, which is everyone's responsibility," he said, adding that "concerted efforts and cooperation are achieving positive results".
     
    "Whoever carries out these acts is a criminal who is trying to stir up sectarian strife," he said, adding that "the Iraqi people have exceeded this, and there is great cooperation between citizens and security services".
