Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani stressed today, Thursday, the importance of religious scholars and sheikhs assuming their social responsibilities in strengthening civil peace.
The media office of the Prime Minister stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that, "Today, Al-Sudani received the scholar Sheikh Abd Al-Razzaq Al-Saadi, and the head of the Iraqi Scholars Group in the south, Sheikh Khaled Al-Mulla, and the meeting witnessed a review of the overall social conditions and ways to enhance the elements of stability and their sustainability.".
During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of raising the voice of unity, tolerance, and acceptance of difference, and for religious scholars and sheikhs to assume their social responsibilities in consolidating civil peace," stressing "the government's support for every initiative and project that contributes to the consolidation of stability and development for all spectrums and groups of the Iraqi people."
