DMI: 28 arrested in five provinces

The Directorate of Military Intelligence DMI announced on Sunday the arrest of 28 defendants, including two wanted for terrorist sentences, in five provinces.
 
A statement by DMI, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "With pre-emptive operations and distinguished intelligence efforts for the departments and divisions (intelligence and security) of the Basra and Maysan Operations Command and the fourteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth divisions, and in cooperation with intelligence and a force from the brigades of those commands, tight ambushes were set up in the areas of the provinces of Baghdad, Basra, Maysan, Nineveh and Kirkuk."
 
It added that "the security operation resulted in the arrest of two terrorists wanted by the judiciary in accordance with the provisions of Article (4 terrorism) in the districts of Al-majar Al-kabeer and Qal'at Saleh and (26) accused of various legal cases in different areas of the same provinces," noting that "the accused were handed over to the concerned authorities."
