The Digital Media Center (DMC) revealed on Tuesday, the number of social media users in Iraq, according to the latest statistics of “Wearesocial” and “Meltwater” institutions specialized in this field.
“There is a clear discrepancy in the number of active social media users for different platforms in the latest statistics of this year, where, for the first time, the number of users of TikTok and YouTube platforms in Iraq is announced”, DMC said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added, "The number of social media users during this year reached to 25.53 million users, according to the latest statistics of “We are social” and Meltwater institutions specialized in this field."
"The number of Facebook users reached to 17.95 million users, that is, less than 900 thousands users for the last year statistics, while Instagram users reached to 14 million active users, a decrease of one and a half million fewer users than last year's statistics",the statement continued.
“The number of Facebook Messenger users totaled 15.10 million, a decrease of about one million and 100 thousand from last year's statistic, while the number of Snapchat users reached 16.10 million, an increase of 2.3 million over the past year,”
“Twitter users reached to 2.50 million, an increase of 600 thousand users over last year, while the number of LinkedIn users reached 1.70 million users, an increase of 300 thousand users over last year. Tik Tok in Iraq totaled 23.88 million active users, and YouTube reached to 24.30 million users,” the statement noted.
DMC affirmed that, "There is an increase in the number of users of some platforms, especially Snapchat, Twitter, and LinkedIn. As the Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger, these platforms lost more than 3 and a half million user compared to last year's statistic.”
It is noteworthy that the Digital Media Center (DMC) is an independent center specialized in monitoring and analyzing the digital world and its various platforms, as well as anticipating the transformations of this world and tracking its news.
