DMC: 28 million users of social networking sites in Iraq

Digital Media Center - DMC announced on Saturday, that there are 28 million users of social networking sites in Iraq.

DMC explained in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that there is a clear increase in the number of active social networking site users in the latest statistics for this year, compared to last year, indicating that the number of social networking site users during this year amounted to 28.35 million active users.  

”An increase of 3 million and 350 thousand users over last year, according to the latest statistics of the “We are social” and “Kepios” institutions specialized in this field,” included the statement. 

DMC indicated that there are 18.85 million active users on the Facebook platform, 15.45 million active users on Instagram, 13.8 million active users on Snapchat, 1.9 million active users of Twitter, 1.4 million active users of LinkedIn, and 16.15 million active users of the Facebook Messenger application.

”There is an increase in the number of users of all platforms, especially Snapchat and Instagram, with the exception of the Facebook and Facebook Messenger platforms, where the two platforms lost two million users compared to last year's statistic,” according to the statement. 

Digital Media Center is an independent, non-governmental center established in 2018, aiming at monitoring, following up and analyzing news related to social networking websites, instant messaging applications, tech companies updates, smart phones, digital marketing methods, highlighting. In addition to that, it aims at detecting and exposing posts, fake pages and false accounts on communication sites.
