BPC to secure sending relief aid to Syria

    The Border Ports Commission BPC announced on Wednesday mobilizing its efforts to secure sending urgent relief aid to Syria.

    A statement by the BPC received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "according to the directive of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by the earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, the Border Ports Commission and the departments operating in it, under direct follow-up by Major General Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, began their efforts to contribute to securing the passage of urgent relief aid, including emergency medical materials, shelter supplies, quantities of medicine and fuel through Al-Qaim border Port to the Republic of Syria."

    The statement added that "the Commission worked to facilitate the task of crossing the vehicles of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which number (98) vehicles, which carry aid and a number used to extract victims and those trapped under the rubble."
