    The Minister of Interior, Abdul al-Amir al-Shammari, discussed with a European delegation the intensification of efforts in the field of training and the formation of workshops in security fields.
     
     
    A statement of the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that, "The Minister of Interior, Abdul al-Amir al-Shammari, met today, Tuesday, with a delegation that included Andreas Papaconstantinou, Director of the Middle East Neighboring Countries Department in the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations Directorate at the European Commission and the European Union ambassador to Iraq filet Varjola, and the official in charge of the Iraq affairs file, Yacopolo Lombardo, and the director of the Iraq affairs office, Christophe Ritalin.
      At the beginning of the meeting, the minister welcomed his guests and discussed with them a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is the continuation of joint coordination and cooperation.
    According to the statement "They also discussed strengthening the relationship between the competent authorities in the Ministry of Interior, the European Commission and the European Union, in a way that serves mutual interests. The meeting also discussed intensifying efforts in the field of training and holding workshops in various security fields."
