MOFA calls on Ankara to conduct an urgent investigation into the killing of the Iraqi family

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Turkish government to conduct an urgent investigation into the killing of an Iraqi family on its soil.

    The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its condolences and sincere sympathy to the families of the Iraqi citizens who were killed in Turkey this day, after they were shot at a vehicle they were transporting.".

    Al-Sahaf called on the Turkish side to "make efforts to conduct an investigation urgently, in cooperation with the competent Iraqi authorities, to uncover the circumstances of this attack and state its causes.".

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, earlier today, Thursday, that the victims of the attack in Turkey will be transferred through the Ibrahim Al-Khalil crossing to Iraq. 

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the death of four Iraqis and the injury of another, as a result of a shooting incident in Turkey.
    The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara, in coordination with the Consulate General in Gaziantep, is following up on a shooting incident on a vehicle carrying Iraqi citizens, on the Nusaybin-Mardin road," indicating that "The accident led to the death of four citizens and the injury of another person.".

    Al-Sahhaf stressed, "Following up the incident with great interest with the Turkish side and through the relevant authorities, to find out its motives and details."
