The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, today, Thursday, that the victims of the attack in Turkey will be transferred through the Ibrahim Al-Khalil crossing to Iraq.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Consulate General of the Republic of Iraq in Gaziantep, Turkey, sent a consular delegation to Mardin Governorate, to complete the procedures for transferring the bodies of the five Iraqi citizens who were killed as a result of a shooting at a vehicle that was carrying them on Nusaybin-Mardin road, and they will be transported through Ibrahim al-Khalil crossing to Iraq.”.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, today, Thursday, the death of four Iraqis and the injury of another, following a shooting incident in Turkey.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara, in coordination with the Consulate General in Gaziantep, is following up on a shooting incident on a vehicle carrying Iraqi citizens, on the Nusaybin-Mardin road," indicating that "The accident led to the death of four citizens and the injury of another person.".
Al-Sahhaf stressed, "Following up the incident with great interest with the Turkish side and through the relevant authorities, to find out its motives and details."
