Document of peaceful coexistence signed in Hatra

    INA-  BAGHDAD

    Hatra district in Nineveh Governorate witnessed on Thursday the signing of the document on peaceful coexistence, in the presence of the Prime Minister's advisor for human rights, Zaidan Khalaf.

     Khalaf affirmed in a speech he delivered during the signing of the document, which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "adopting a policy of moderation and tolerance, rejecting violence and hate speech, and accepting the principle of plurality of components and the rule of law, is a basis for building a future stage that establishes sustainable development for all regions of the Nineveh Plain."

     He added, "This document was signed in my presence in the districts of Hamdaniya, Bashiqa and Hatra," noting that "another document will be signed in Hawija district."

     He continued, "Most of the signing ceremonies of the agreement take place in the presence of all the tribal and official activities of the regions and are sponsored by the UNDP and the PAO organization," explaining: "We have clarified the government's approach and the prime minister's interest in minorities to establish a new phase of promoting peaceful coexistence and rejecting the ideology of extremism and hatred."
