Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi confirmed on Sunday the strengthening of international partnerships.
A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi met with Syrian Minister of Electricity Ghassan Al-Zamil on the sidelines of the 13th session of the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Mudhaffar Mustafa Al-Jubouri and from the Syrian side Ambassador Ghassan Abbas and a number of specialists."
It added that "the two sides reviewed the paths of cooperation between the two countries and institutional coordination in the fields of renewable energy in the interest of the two brotherly countries."
"The Iraqi government and its competent institutions are keen to strengthen partnerships at the international level in order to achieve the Iraqi government's commitments in confronting climate change and prioritizing dealing with a sustainable energy future," al-Aboudi said during the meeting.
