Rashid receives the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament,and the parliamentary delegation accompanying him

The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, affirmed on Wednesday, Iraq's readiness to provide assistance to the Jordanian people, while the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Ahmed Al-Safadi, referred to the primary role of Iraq in eliminating the terrorist ISIS and fighting it on behalf of the whole world.


The Presidency of the Republic said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received, today, Wednesday, at the Baghdad Palace, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Ahmed Al-Safadi, and his accompanying parliamentary delegation," noting that "during the meeting, cooperation relations were reviewed existing between the two countries, where their importance was emphasized and work to develop and strengthen them in a way that achieves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples."

It stressed "the importance of cooperation in various political, economic, education and health fields in a way that achieves mutual interests," referring to "Jordan's position in support of the Iraqi people."

The statement added "the necessity of perpetuating work and joint coordination between the two countries and benefiting from relations in consolidating the stability and peace of the region, especially against our common enemy, terrorism and extremism," pointing to "the general situation in Iraq and the security, political and economic stability it is witnessing that contributes to supporting investments and the private sector in the country."

Iraq was able to form a serious and effective government in providing services to citizens

For its part, the Jordanian parliamentary delegation conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to the president, pointing to "the king's pride in Iraq and his keenness to maintain strong relations and his affirmation of supporting Iraq and its people."

The President of the Republic entrusted the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament with his greetings to the Jordanian monarch and his wishes of health and success, and the Jordanian people progress and prosperit.

The delegation referred to "Jordan's aspiration for cooperation in various fields, especially economic ones," stressing "the primary role of Iraq in eliminating the terrorist ISIS and fighting it on behalf of the whole world."
