The head of the Border Ports Commission, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, issued Sunday a directive regarding arrivals for the Gulf Cup 25th Championship.
The Commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "late at night, the head of the Border Ports Commission, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, took a tour at the Safwan border crossing," noting that "this came in order to inspect the fans of the teams participating in the Championship, as he warmly welcomed them, wishing a pleasant stay for them in their second country, Iraq."
Al-Waeli stressed, according to the statement, that "all workers must provide the best of their services and efforts to ensure the smooth entry and departure of fans without delay."
The statement continued, "The Commission continues with its cadres and working departments to implement government directives that confirmed dealing with the guests of Iraq as if they were in their country of origin, taking care of them and providing them with all services that encourage them to continue attending the matches," noting that "ensuring their safety from entering Iraqi territory until they leave it safely and securely."
