Iraq reveals a new program to merge camps

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Ministry of Migration and Displaced revealed on Saturday, the preparation of a new program to merge the camps in order to reduce efforts and better secure the supplies of the IDPs, confirming that all preparations will be completed to receive them of Al-Hol camp soon, noting the continued return of the IDPs from Kurdistan camps to their areas of residence.

    "The return of Iraqis from Al-Hol camp will soon resume in the form of batches to the Psychological Rehabilitation Center in Al-Jada'a," said the director of branches in the ministry, Ali Abbas, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    He added, "The ministry has completed all preparations to receive the batches coming from Al-Hol camp very soon."

    "The return continues from the camps in the Kurdistan region, but slowly, due to the attachment of the children of the displaced families to schools," he noted, adding, "We believe that the return of the displaced families will be in greater numbers after the mid-year holidays."

    He stressed "the importance of creating all appropriate conditions for the return of displaced families, especially in Sinjar district."

    "There is another program, where some camps will be merged with others to unite efforts, reduce costs, control the organization of the situation of families inside these camps, and better secure their daily necessities," he included.
