The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, confirmed on Monday, that CBI is open to strengthening banking relations with the countries of the world.
The media office of CBI stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Governor of CBI, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, received today Monday the Ambassador of China to Iraq, Cui Wei ," noting that "during the meeting, they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation between Baghdad and Iraq and Beijing and facilitating the movement of banking transactions and trade exchange in accordance with international standards.”
Makhaif confirmed, according to the statement, that " CBI is open to strengthening its banking relations with countries of the world in a way that serves the interest of the Iraqi banking sector."
