The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, stressed on Wednesday, the need to pay attention to the holy shrines and to initiate the reconstruction of religious places.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: "The President of the Republic affirmed his duties to protect the constitution, as he is the true guarantor of the general situation in the country, and that everyone must work for a strong Iraq for all Iraqis, and this comes through supporting and strengthening state institutions."
The statement added, "This came during his reception at the Baghdad Palace, the head of Sunni Endowment Office , Mishaan Muhyiddin al-Khazraji."
According to the statement, the president called for spreading tolerance and love by adopting moderate discourse, stressing the need to deepen cooperation among all to face challenges and stand up extremist ideas."
According to the statement, the president stressed the need to pay attention to all holy shrines and to initiate the reconstruction of religious places and make them a destination for visitors to activate religious tourism, which can be a supporter of the country's economy.
In turn, the head of the Sunni Endowment office, Mishaan Muhyiddin Al-Khazraji, thanked the President of the Republic for his directives, stressing the activation of the advisory and educational role in religious institutions and spreading love among all Iraqis.
