Rashid, Al-Hakim affirm the necessity of dialogue to overcome outstanding issues between Baghdad and Erbil

The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, and the President of the Republic, Abdul al-Latif Rashid, stressed on Saturday, the continuation of dialogue to overcome the outstanding problems between the center and the region.
 
The media office of the Wisdom Movement stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Hakim received the President of the Republic, as the two sides discussed developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region and restoring the pivotal role of Iraq between the parties.".
 
The statement added, "The two sides stressed" the importance of maintaining dialogue to overcome outstanding problems, especially between the federal government and the regional government, and the need to solve them according to the equation of national interest and concession in favor of Iraq.

The statement also mentioned "the two parties also stressed the importance of obtaining water rights for Iraq from the source countries, and working to activate international agreements related to this file," noting that "Sayyid Al-Hakim thanked the President of the Republic for his visit to the provinces and learn more about the problems  of citizens there."
