The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, stressed on Saturday the need to maintain the exerted efforts to defeat terrorism and its sleeper cells, stressing the importance of preserving victory, which is no less important than achieving it.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim said: "It is a special day in the history of the Iraqi nation, which raised its head high after a major national epic that ended with defeating ISIL terrorist gang and liberating our lands such as the beloved Mosul and other cities from the clutches of those terrorists that committed the killing, plundering, captivity, and violating sanctities.”
He added, "The epic of liberating the land of Iraq, which was launched after the Supreme Religious Authority (may the Almighty prolong his life) issued the fatwa of Sufficient Jihad, in which the sons of Iraq, including the army, the police, the popular and tribal mobilizations forces, the Peshmerga, and the rest of our heroic forces who registered in their sacrifices the real heroism that goes beyond its military and security dimensions to have remarkable humanitarian horizon such as caring for and embracing IDPs and protecting the inhabitants of areas that have experienced months of heavy fighting. "
Al-Hakim emphasized that: "Preserving victory is no less important than achieving it, and our joy to achieve that victory will not be complete without returning the remaining IDPs to their areas of residence after rehabilitation, also, continuing to strike the heads of terrorism and its sleeper cells, preserving the security achievement, and missing the opportunity for anyone whose sinful soul begged him to tamper with the security and stability of our homeland.
