National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji confirmed today, Tuesday, the government's seriousness in benefiting from international expertise to raise capabilities in facing challenges, especially those related to biological risks.
Al-Araji told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The convening of the Seventh International Conference on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Safety and Security in Baghdad is an important matter for Iraq, and it is one of the important conferences, and the Iraqi government supports such conferences and so on, and there are clear recommendations to raise the capabilities of the security services and security energies to face these challenges.”
He added, "Universities, the Ministry of Higher Education, and all sectors, including private companies, the international community, and regional countries, are participating in this conference, which seeks to have sustainable security away from chemical and biological weapons, and Iraq is one of the countries that have suffered from these weapons that were used in the past years, and we had a lot of the victims."
