CBI celebrates 75th anniversary of its foundation

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), Mustafa Ghalib Mokheef, recalled on Wednesday, the importance of the role of the Central Bank in the country, on the occasion of the of its 75th year of its foundation, stressing that (CBI) played roles in progress and development and one of the engines of sophisticated institutional work.

In a statement received by the Iraqi news agency INA, CBI’s governor Mustafa Ghalib Mokheef said that “today, we celebrate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Central Bank of Iraq, the day that National Bank of Iraq was founded in 1947, to begin a victorious path of monetary authority in our country.

He continues that the foundation of CBI has made fruitful results, playing roles in prosperity and progress, as an institution that belongs to its country.

He also added that we are all proud of CBI, that our people, institutions and banking sector are glad of this generous national result.
