Prime Minister Mohammed shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed on Wednesday Iraq’s need for the support of the international community to retrieve its money specially in the case of tax insurance.
For her part, special representative of the UN secretary general Jenin Plasschaert referred to the efforts exerted by Al-Sudani government and its seriousness in fighting corruption.
Media office of the prime minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA that “ PM Al-Sudani met today, Jenin Plasschaert and her accompanying delegation, during the meeting, efforts of the current government in developing stability and deepening the democratic path have been discussed.”
“ The meeting witnessed reviewing the plans of the government in tackling the displaced’s file as well as the efforts of the government in fighting corruption,” the statement added.
On his part, Al-sudani said that “ the government will benefit from experience of the successful countries in this concern in addition to returning the convicts in corruption cases especially in the case of tax insurance.”
On the other part, Plasschaert offered help through the UN programs in providing training and logistic support.”
