Parliament's meeting to amend the Rules of Procedure in details

    INA - BAGHDAD The sessions to amend the Rules of Procedure to the Iraqi Parliament started today. The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi held the meeting on Saturday, in this regard with the Committee of the Rule of Procedure Amendments. Around 191 members have attended the session. Al-Halbusi postponed the review of the appeals that have reached over 30, about the legality of some members in the parliaments. The temporary Committee of the Rule of Procedure Amendments presented the report regarding the permanent committees of the parliament. Saba al-Saadi, the head of the temporary committee have suggested to amend article 70 regarding the Security and Defence as he proposed an opinion to separate these two committees. He also suggested making a total of 28 committees in the parliament. The amendments also included article 73 in terms of giving no less than 7 and not more than 19 members for each committee. Hence, the Parliament has voted to start the direct voting on the amendments without first or second readings. The Parliament speaker decided to give the choice of naming the committees to the current temporary committee in a meeting to be held tomorrow’s Sunday. The voting session was also set to be on Monday to set the amendments. Other files have been aroused like the case of the jobs vacancies and the legality of this opening as well as the regard of the previous Speaker of Parliament to move the government to caretaker. Al-Halbusi called to hold a meeting with the legal committee in this regard saying, “To have a caretaker government doesn’t mean to decide without the parliament’s reference,”     @Shahad J Hassan
