Numbers of IDPs returning from Al-Hol camp, MMD

    Ministry of Migration and Displacement – MMD confirmed on Saturday, the completion of the return of 925 IDP families from the Syrian Al-Hol camp, confirming that the process of rehabilitating the returnees “is successfully ongoing” with the participation of 11 NGOs.
     
    "The number of families returning from Al-Hol camp so far has reached 925 families who have arrived in the city of Mosul," said the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Karim Al-Nouri to the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    He noted that "around 80% of these families returned to their homes after completing the rehabilitation with the participation of more than 11 NGOs.”
     
    "A few days ago, 158 families arrived from Al-Hol camp, estimated as 650 IDPs," highlighted Al-Nouri, adding "We found quick success in the issue of getting adapted to the new reality, which called us to bring them back after consultations, agreements and discussions with the people of the area to reassure them of their return.”
     
    According to Al-Nouri, there was no violation in the areas to which families who came from al-Hol camp, stressing "the fact of the return is voluntary, and Iraq must be free of camps and IDPs."
