The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Wednesday that eight Iraqi universities, led by Babylon, have been ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the (THE) Rankings, announced the results of its new version, which ranked and evaluated 1799 universities from 104 countries around the world for the year 2023."
The statement pointed out that "Iraqi universities obtained an indicative competitive ranking, represented by the achievement of eight important results at the level of global competition, where the University of Babylon ranked (601-800), then the University of Technology (801-1000), then the University of Anbar (1001-1200), while the universities of Baghdad, Basra, Kufa, Mosul and Mustansiriyah came in the rank (+1501)."
It stressed that " Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings adopted key criteria for university rankings based on the evaluation and measurement of performance indicators in five areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
