Attacks on the Iraqi territory, an emergency item on IPU agenda

    Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah announced on Monday, the inclusion of the attacks on the Iraqi territory as an emergency item on the agenda of the Inter-Parliamentary Union – IPU meetings.

    "Abdullah confirmed, from the Kigali Conference Center – KCC in the capital of the Republic of Rwanda, the success of the Iraqi delegation and with exceptional efforts to convince the member states of the Islamic Conference Arab geopolitical group that the Iraqi emergency item is the only one that will be presented,” said the office of the deputy speaker of the Parliament in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    The statement included, “It will also include voting to accept Iraq’s demand to include the issue of repeated attacks on our lands by neighboring countries Iran and Turkey as an emergency item on the agenda of IPU meetings to obtain support and international solidarity.” 
     
    "This came after the head of the Iraqi delegation presented a detailed and complete report regarding the continuation of military attacks on Iraqi lands, the violation of airspace and national sovereignty, and the trespassing on Iraq's water share by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Turkish side," according to the statement.
