The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, confirmed on Friday, that the Air Force jets participated in the operation to kill the leader of ISIS yesterday in Kirkuk.
Iraqi Air Force carried out a strike via (Cessna Carvan 208) aircrafts, and in coordination with the Targeting Cell at the Joint Operations Command, to kill the terrorist Muhammad Muthari al-Obeidi (the official of ISIS gangs in Kirkuk) and two other terrorists, as this operation conducted according to the information of the Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency (FIIA), said Rasool in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He pointed out that "The Iraqi armed forces will continue to implement qualitative operations based on a great intelligence and security effort to pursue the remnants of terrorists and prevent them from finding shelter in the mountainous and uninhabited areas."
